about

I wrote this while I was working at the St. George Arms in St. George, ON sometime in 2008. It was sort of an accumulation of how I had been feeling over the last year or two. The Lyndon Park Mall is a mall in Brantford, ON.

lyrics

I stood and stared

I looked from side to side

And I saw little there

The stomping close behind me

Married dust to the air

I fell asleep to specs

While shouting “Que Sera Sera”

Regardlessly

The hour glass will tumble

And the stars will crumble

Two by Two

What can you do?

I’m worried too

Squeeze through walls

Stuff domestic animals

In Lyndon Park malls

They go through many changes

They go through nothing at all

They sometimes zip up jackets

They often tie up their blues

Eventually

I’ll venture deep inside her

With my pocket applier

To make up the child

So she won’t waste a single smile

She’ll get old after awhile

And then my duty is fulfilled

Collapsing mirrors

Reflect diminished furniture

From thrifty frontiers

The cancer causing agents stick their tongues in our ears

How are you Gabrielle?

I’ve heard the orchestra’s swell

After all

A pardon must be granted

To the disenchanted

The clouds can part

Enough false starts

It’s breaking my heart
